This is Ed, the forum administrator. This September I will be doing an art show at Critical Resistance Ten (CR10) in San Francisco, showing the arts and crafts created by prisoners. I am going to favor art that has content as well as form—political art that exposes the inhumanity of today’s prison system. Prisoners have been unable to successfully communicate their conditions of existence to the world. Maybe they can say it with art. Outside representatives of prisoners should e-mail me copies of prisoner submissions and I will put them on new site for sale (assuming the existence of some level of quality). I will show the best of these at CR10 and put them on tee shirts to be sold on the Prison Art website. Prisoners won’t get rich but they can make some money if selected, or even if their art sells on the site (90% of their asking price goes to the prisoners or their outside agents).
